This is a video of the Kalinya Permaculture Farm Design, just 3 years and 9 months after the Permaculture Earthworks were completed by Glenn Armstrong Excavations and planting began. Kalinya Permaculture Farm is located in Tyalgum, New South Wales, Australia. Inspired by Bill Mollison's Tagari Farm which is just 4 km away as the crow flies. I completed a Permaculture Design Certificate Course in 1999 with Geoff Lawton and Sindu Webber at the Permaculture Research Institute at Tagari Farm. http://permaculturefarm.org Permaculture Farms including Kalinya Permaculture Farm featured extensively in Geoff Lawton’s Online Permaculture Design Course promotional videos and course, on the front cover of Geoff Lawtons Permaculture Design Course DVD and as the two case studies in Geoff Lawton’s Online Permaculture Course which was taken by over 5000 students. The 445 acres Kalinya Permaculture Farm has 10 dams with millions of litres of water available via gravity feed,100's of metres of water harvesting and food and timber producing swales, 100's of fruit and nut trees starting to produce fruit. 25 varieties of Bamboo, with predominantly Old Hamii wind breaks. We agist between 60 and 120 holstein dairy cows on pastures and manage them using holistic farming techniques. We have dedicated the 10,000 Australian native trees planted on the farm so far to Bill Mollison and the 10,000 future students we hope will see our videos of Permaculture Farm Designs and be inspired to do a Permaculture Design Certificate Course and create 10,000 Permaculture Farms with 1000's of trees each of their own. Please subscribe to watch the 10,000 trees and many more to come grow into a forest and share this video to help make this goal to inspire 10,000 students to take a Permaculture Courses a reality. Bill wanted everyone to plant a tree when he passed. Please go and plant a tree in your corner of the world today in memory of Bill Mollison. Below is a quote from official statement of the Permaculture Research Institute, prepared at the request of Bill’s widow, Lisa Mollison. ############### "A massive tree in the forest of humanity has fallen. But in keeping with Bill’s invincible optimism, these verses from the great mystic, Rumi, are perhaps most appropriate: When you see my procession, don’t cry, “Gone, gone!” For me it is a time of meeting and reunion. As you lower me into the grave, don’t say, “So long.” When you see that lowering down, consider a rising. What harm is there in the setting of a sun or moon? What seems a setting to you is a dawning. What seed goes into the earth and does not grow? Why are you doubting this human seed? Bill, you will never be forgotten." ############### Permaculture Earthworks by Glenn Armstrong Excavations : http://www.glennarmstrongexcavations.com.au I highly recommend Glenn Armstrong if you are considering any Permaculture earthworks in and around Northern NSW, Australia. He is very competent at all aspects of Permaculture earthworks including building swales, dams, drive ways, house pads, chinampas, rice paddies, you name it, he has done it all. He can tell you things about your land that only an expert earthmoving contractor can see and will be invaluable asset to your Permaculture Farm design and implementation and will save you thousands of dollars in avoiding costly mistakes. He has worked on 100's of Permaculture farms and is one of the most experienced and knowledgable Permaculture earthworks operators in the world.
