Sublime.

no se puede tocar mas bonito

"Goodbye friend."

Listening to Metheny playing nylon I prefer the Ovation's sound (smooth, mellow, voluminous) to that of Linda Manzer's fine instruments (almost coarse and flat at times, you can hear the fingers working the strings, it seems har work to play these). I find it interesting how Ovations practically vanished from the stages today and would be curious on a professional musician's opinion or expertise here.

A gift to the ears. A balm that quiets the soul.
-
Timeless beauty from Mays and Metheny...again.
-
This tune illustrates Lyle's brilliant synth programming and ability to provide a canvas on which Pat can paint. In 35 years, I've heard NO ONE ELSE reproduce the warm strings and pads Lyle does. He uses almost NO preprogrammed factory synthesis; he creates his own.

One of my favourite songs. My stepfather was listening this song back in the 80's. He still has the good old vinyl discs;-)
-
Pat takes me threw a collage of my past everytime...Sweet memories.

How many striped blue shirts does this guy own???
-
Along with "Farmer's Trust" and "Letter from Home", PMG's song "If I Could" is another one that I never get tired of listening to... very "hypnotic" (in a good way, of course!)
-
What a remarkable, exquisite, exceptional man you are, Pat Metheny. Beautiful.
-
Whenever I hear this song, I see myself @ age 7 w/ my Farmer uncle on summer evenings on the back of his tractor "disking" the fields...The Sun setting on one side, us in the valley, and the Mountains in the distance. The birds following our path through the rich soil. just us. just life...
-
This song is about life. Nothing else.
-
As many times as I've heard this (many!), I never tire of it. It's beautiful, relaxing and shows what real music is: It's about experience, love, loss, coping and yet finding that place that connects you with the one and all. This music (and many pieces of Lyle and Pat's) do that for so many. They are old, deep souls, looking to share with us. Amen...
