Pangasius Catfish (Iridescent Shark Catfish)
This is a Pangasius catfish which was "rescued" from a shop because it had been badly treated by its previous owner. The fins were completely ripped but we gave it some treatment and has been happy ever since.

Hi Martin, sorry for the very late reply, I haven't been active on my channel for a while! In my experience, the white spots/marks do not seem to affect the fish in any way. The large mark you can see on the nose of my Pangasius have been on the fish for years, but yet the fish is still alive and well! If the white marks/spots become infected or start to swell rapidly, I would recommend buying anti-bacterial medicine from your local aquatic store. Thanks, Kieran.

they get fucking huge but i have 2 in a 55 gallon tank right now yes i know thats not big enough but they are still babies only 3 inches a piece and i have a very large pond they will be moved into to be happy big fish :)

We have a catfish which is about 8 years old now, he also has the same white marks/spot on his nose. Any ideas what this is and how we can treat it or stop it getting worse? Or is it a common thing with these? Thanks Martin

They may eat very small minnows, Only one way to find out!

@Chleddyfwr These fish are often sold by people who have little or no knowledge about them. Some people just don't know how big these fish can get.

@fishexpertonline catfish is a popular fish in our place, but i don't like the taste either grilled or cooked, it taste fishy and slimy,. but for pangasius, i don't know if i did taste it, b'cause the farm is very far far from our place,..,

@farem101 Lol, what do they taste like?
-
HAHA, SORRY BUT THE DESCRIPTION FOR ME WAS QUITE FUNNY, FOR US PANGASIUS IS A FOOD, A FOOD FOR PEOPLE, ANYWAY I DO HAVE 3 PANGASIUS ABOUT 2 INCH LONG TOO
-
@AWAISLOVESPAKISTAN They are omnivores so yes they will eat carnivorous food. I would recommend feeding them blood worm. Even though they eat meaty food, they still need other food like flake or pellets in their diet.

Does shark catfish eats carnivorous food??

@mzam1111 Hi, your local pet/aquatic store may have a spare tank which the shark could go in. I would take the fish to the store in a polystyrene container or a large bucket. You could also put a notice up at a local pet store advertising that you are giving away an Iridescent shark. It is up to you whether you want charge any money for it. Hope this helps.

thats the same size as mine
-
@willord15 You could keep about 5 in a tank that size with room to spare.
-
@fishexpertonline my tank is 350 gallons is that ok?
-
They also like to play dead and do a good job of it. I noticed you have my favorate fish the Clown loach in there they're excellet fish. I am building a huge pond in back yard for my irridecent
-
I know how you feel, even if a walk past the tank, the fish will just go mental and swim all over the place like a headless chicken!
