Our rice tomorrow - The system of rice intensification (SRI) in Vietnam

This is the contribution of Manon Aubel and Thanh Thanh Phan to a video contest organized by the Goethe Institute in Hanoi about the impact of climate change on Vietnamese people. We chose to document the impact of colder winters on the lives of those who farm rice. We met with farmers learning a new agricultural method (called "SRI") who were hoping to improve their production. Through this fieldwork we also realized the future of rice was more and more in the hands of women farming by themselves while men left to work in the sectors of service or construction.
