現在、山梨県の甲府市に妻と子供3人と住んでいますが、今年、田舎へ引っ越す予定で、野菜の有機栽培と放し飼いの鶏の飼育を計画しています。去年、7年ぶりに日本へ家族と一緒に戻ってきて、同じく年齢で、農業に興味を持っている知り合いがいなくて、ちょっと寂しいです。若い世代の皆が都会へ向かって、会社員を目指しているのですね。僕達はカナダで12羽の鶏を飼っていて、毎日の卵取りと鶏の世話が恋しいです。
妻は甲府出身の日本人で、これから日本へ長くいるつもりです。まだまだ家と土地が見つからなくて、心配です。お金はそんなにないのですので、やはり田舎の現地へ回って、地元の人へ尋ねようという方法が一番いいんじゃないかと思っています。今は翻訳の仕事をやっていますので、インターネットへつなげば、どこでも仕事できます。何かアドバイスを頂ければとても助かります。英語でも日本語でもいいですが、メールやりとりができればうれしく思います。

Thank you for your comment and answer is both. I think in Japan factory farms are much more than free range farm because of economic reason. However, our place is free range farm for animal's health and we believe that link to our human's health because we eat the egg or meat from them. And our farm also grow organic vegetable and we feed some vegetables which we can not sell in the market because of bad form or scuff.

Hi, My name is Graeme and I am from Scotland. And good animal welfare in farms means a lot to me, I only buy food that are free range to insure that the animal has at least had a good life. And I was wondering what Japanese farms were like. Are all Japanese farms factory farms or do you have free range farms? or both ? cheers :)

Hi Byron, Thank you for your comment. Our feed to chicken is mainly processed vegetables. Because here also grow vegetables and of course, these vegetables are organic. We can not take all our vegetables to market due to some reason like timing, color, form and so. We use that kind of vegetable. And we use enteruria of chicken as organic manure. Our aim is totally cycle style.
