Fodder, as green feeds are also called, supply nutrients that are easier to absorb for your poultry. Dried grains ready for sprouting are convenient to buy and store. The feed value of the grains change when sprouting happens. When grain begins to sprout and grow there is an increase in vitamin and protein percentage wise. The reason for this is the starch is used to support the new sprout.A grains seed contains complex compounds which are difficult to digest. When they are sprouted they become a more simple compound, which makes them more readily available. Sprouted grains provide more nutrients, when sprouted minerals merge with proteins to allow better function. An increase in the amino acid Lysine has been found in sprouting. Higher Lysine levels have been found to raise egg production in hens. Vitamins A, E, and C as well as B complex are generally good in sprouting. Vitamin C minimizes sperm defects in roosters and should raise your hatch rate if there is a deficiency. Vitamin C also helps interior egg quality. The vitamin C in sprouted grains also aids in the health of stressed birds. Remember to supplement your feed with calcium for laying hens, which they need for the creation of egg shells. !!!! UPDATE: If you are concerned about using bleach, I have discovered that a freshly squeezed LEMON can be used as replacement in order to completely get rid of mold issues. !!!!

Give the guy a break if you know better way than say it but at least he's not feeding the plane grains with the micro toxins to his animals he's trying to kill it now I think he has is almost perfect this is a great idea the next best thing that you could do and it's actually cheaper in the long run hello food increases sprouting time if you use food grade hydrogen peroxide you can buy it in 30 percent you mix one drop 211 ounces water that gives you is 3% food grade hydrogen perox this not only will increase sprouting time giving rise to oxygen in a plant better nutrient and also better oxygen aid plants is better oxygenateda animals and humans lol. I truly like your idea this is huge this takes a bag of grain and turns it into 3 * as much awesome just awesome and so healthy. thank you

Bleach on organic wheat?... Aluminum?... Baking soda?... I don't get it... And as an update, Azure farms organic hard red wheat 50lbs bags cost over $55 I think; the $10 / 25lbs no longer applies.

Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) will also help with your mold issues, and healthier for your animals than bleach.
