Orfevre is recognized as an extremely talented but temperamental racehorse, having won the Japanese Triple Crown and voted Japanese Horse of the Year in 2011. His victories in 2012 include the Takarazuka Kinen and the Prix Foy. All his races in Japan have been ridden by Kenichi Ikezoe.
