Old tools-some interesting items
Just some old tools that might be of some interest. One interesting thing is when this stuff was made it was apparently assumed that it was made in the USA,so they stamped the state and town on there. Now we just take it for granted it came from China.

Awesome stuff to be displayed on the wall of the man cave.

Nice haul! Love yard sales for tools. Here is one obsession I have :https://youtu.be/LEroYqKZ4Hk

I think that "Post hole digger" is a Kohler.

you are as bad as me when it comes to old tools. I'm beginning to think these old guys and widows may be tracking my movements...just so they can set up their mini yard sales just when I'll be passing by-lol

sweet metal break

@ 3:20 that tool is a "saw set". It's for offsetting the teeth in a saw blade after it's been sharpened.

I was just watching your videos... really neat by the way. That wrench you have there is known as an alligator wrench. It's used as in the lineman trade as it will fit various sizes of nuts. The less you carry up a pole the better.

That second tool with the serrated knife edges I recognized as something I'd seen a while ago, I finally figured it out... you practically said it yourself, it's a hay knife!!! Couldn't believe I'd forgotten.

It is a good soapbox to be on. When I was a kid, tools were made in Birmingham (England, not Alabama) or Sheffield, once home to some of the best steel foundries in the world, now, a lot of stuff comes from India or China. Most of the scrap metal that leaves the port of Tilbury goes to China. We priced ourselves out of the markets.

Somewhere in my workshop, I have a similar saw set, it was my Dad's, 'Eclipse' brand. Bit smaller, made in Sheffield, England.

VERY cool stuff by the way! :)

called a "saw set" used as you said.. to set the teeth.. not actually used for sharpening.. makes the cut wide enough for the teeth to carry out the sawdust
