This is a short documentary about the life of nomadic bee farmers in Vietnam. I spent several days on site learning much of the basic terminology and the practices of the bee farmers. The farmers are nomadic because the supply of nectar the bees need becomes depleted at regular times of the year. Therefore the farmer must transport his hives to areas safe from pesticides that will kill his bees and his profit. This means a difficult life for the farmer who spends many a day and night away from home and family so he can tend the family business. There is great risk in bee farming and the potential for great profit when all the systems are in place and working well. I hope you enjoy my first attempt at a documentary. I certainly became infatuated by the whole bee farming lifestyle.
