Colttaine has a video showing that women consider 80% of all men as below average in attractiveness. Your video shares the fact that after the bottleneck women still out-produced men by four or five to one. That data fits very well with the attractiveness data. Women are apparently getting impregnated by the 20% of the men they consider above average.

Only 5% of medieval Europeans were members of the aristocracy. Only 5% of the people in the Soviet Union were members of the Communist Party. Less than 5% of college students play varsity sports. The genome study says that only 6% of the early male farmers were reproducing. Coincidence? I think not!

It has dawned on me that Slaves in America Invented more than women in all history. LMAO DISGRACE

That doesn't prove hypergamy as an inherited trait, it merely indicates women were choosing a stable food source for them and more importantly their offspring. A rational choice as opposed to an instinctual drive. This isn't well argued and as per usual involves a lot of non-sequitur jumps.

thanks Stardusk, very informative. I wonder, how much this bottleneck was due to the female's choice and how much might be due to the effects of war. I am thinking that the farmer/herders probably had better military organization and weapons and might have charged in with spears and darts blazing so to speak, killing the men and taking the women as the spoils of war. To me, the extreme 1:17 ratio might point to a wiping out of the male population to gain access to the woman, or, perhaps some men were allowed to live but as slaves and not often allowed access to reproduction. Another possibility could be that environmental factors were reducing the population of hunter gathers with men taking a higher percent of the death toll due to doing the more difficult and dangerous work (hunting) leaving many females with little choice but to take up with a farmer.

Top notch presentation.
As a person that has been living in China for quite some time, I can confirm those observations as accurate.
To all fellow MGTOW, that would like to experience the essence of Neolithic Hypergamy from a different perspecive, I recommend that you read "Growth of The Soil" by Nobel prize winner Knut Hamsung. It is not a science book by any means, rather it presents a fictional story of settlers in the Norwegian North.
"It is an epic of earth; the history of a microcosm. Its dominant note is one of patient strength and simplicity; the mainstay of its working is the tacit, stern, yet loving alliance between Nature and the Man who faces her himself, trusting to himself and her for the physical means of life, and the spiritual contentment with life which she must grant if he be worthy."
Even thou the book was written in 1920, in my view it contains many overarching MGTOW themes that I'm sure you won't miss. Writing is amazing in it's own right. -
Women created farming, animal husbandry while men were hunting and fighting. Women decided who married who. They ruled the hearth hence the culture. The art of the time reflects this.

Funny an alpha trick that worked 10,000 years ago is the opposite in China today. 14 farm wives. That's 2 weeks off for everyone. Wow.
Now we have google grabbing all the glory. It's an online Internet harem. I guess that would be a painting of Page and Brin in the center, the new Paleo men. On the left the googleites are harvesting data. On the right it's back at headquarters in Cali.
In the background the China, the desperate hunters in old industries, looking jealously on.
Time to build some firewalls. -
Maybe it is past time for technological changes to begin favoring MEN'S choices, opportunities, and reproductive/mating strategies?
Maybe it is past time for reliable men's contraception technology, ( a "male pill") improved robot masturbation aids, with ever more sophisticated mobile dolls, then robots, and eventually "Stepford wives" or "artificial women") replacing clearly worthless or even hateful modern women?
"Virtual Reality" technology can also increasingly replace irrelevant, if not hateful, modern women, as ALL of the senses may eventually become engaged, not only sight and hearing.
Scientific and medical Developments relating to affordable artificial wombs and the extrauterine growth, care, and nurturing of babies (from conception to infancy) sans femmes, also would greatly increase our independence from these modern women, although, as with the artificial women/she-androids, we probably shouldn't be in any great hurry about seeing results any time soon. The challenges on both the "hardware" and "software" levels, are quite formidable!
If you consider that in China, as elsewhere in the world, modern women aren't even willing to reproduce at replacement rates anyhow, male reproductive and sex-enhancement technology may well even save the species!
Why should social, economic, and technological changes only benefit females? We MGTOW can finally begin living up to our name, and go our own way...and women will be COOKED! -
Stardusk, excellent work.
You may find this article of use as it aggregates various data on the issue of polygyny with special reference to the Neolithic (though the author is interested in polyamory prior to this). The reference to patrilocal mating systems (where the men tend to stay out and women move in between groups) goes to your central contention:
"According to Hrdy, pre-agricultural human societies would likely have been similar to modern day hunter-gatherers, but the rise of agriculture changed this pattern dramatically. Over the past 10,000 years or so, Hrdy explained, "matrilocal societies gave way to pressures from more expansionist patrilocal societies." This simple change had serious repercussions for both human life and the genetic record. Patrilocal societies typically show increased hierarchies, greater male control
over women's sexual choices, and more competition among men compared to matrilocal societies. Patrilocal societies are also usually polygynous. (link is external)
Therefore, the larger numbers of patrilocal (and polygynous) societies today is likely the consequence of agriculture and not a true reflection of the human past."

While this argues toward polyamory as being the typical mating system prior to the NR it nonetheless seems that your contention regarding hypergamy is warranted. Even more so, the argument around poyamory shows that female primates as well as humans while perhaps having multiple partners would still exercise hypergamy in terms of central mates.
"Despite Pan's moderately polygynous genetics, the bonobo and chimpanzee mating systems are both most accurately described as multimale-multifemale because males and females each mate with multiple individuals. Of course, this isn't random or indiscriminate mating since females are making careful decisions (link is external) about who they choose to mate with, and when. The effective population size in bonobos and chimps shows up looking genetically similar to humans because females choose to preferentially mate with high-ranking males during their peak of ovulation."
