Nam Dam - An Unforgettable Experience

Welcome to Nam Dam village, homeland of the Dao ethnic minority in Quan Ba district, Ha Giang province in northern Vietnam. Nam Dam village offers great opportunities for tourists to enjoy the beautiful scenery of mountains, terraced fields, villages and to experience authentic local life. Community Based Tourism services in Nam Dam include home-stay with local families, local food, trekking tours, farming tours, voluntary tours, traditional music performance, brocade weaving demonstration and much more. Since 2012, Caritas Switzerland and PanNature with funding from Misereor have implemented the community-based tourism project in Nam Dam village. The objective of this project is to develop a model in Nam Dam as a pilot model of how community-based tourism can contribute towards the improvement of livelihoods of the local people while preserving their cultural and natural heritage.
