My "Secret" Chicken Feed Mix!
Here is an informative presentation about chicken feed, feed monopolies and the mix we have used for over a decade to produce great tasting eggs AND chicken meat year around! I have uploaded the complete recipe and ratios, along with the link for the premix to our server. Here is the URL: http://eco-ranch.us/POULTRYFEEDMIX.pdf So many people have asked for more information that I created a ".pdf" file with the ingredients and ratios. If you would like the file, you can download it at: http://eco-ranch.us/POULTRYFEEDMIX.pdf

Thank you for the information. And for not keeping secrets ;)

thank you for the video! One question, in the video you are mixing 2 corn, 2 wheat, 2 milo, and 3.5 soy. But in your feedmix pdf file you have 2 soy, 2 wheat, 1 milo, and 3 corn.
which is correct? -

I work in a deli and people ask if our meats are gluten-free 😂
-
I still haven't seen how you make the feed yet
-
How much of the All In One Poultry Premix do you need for the mix that you made? Loved the video too.

Robert great video Just asking a favour am I on the right track with the calculations below, I know the grains are not the same as yours mix but I have these available for now.
Corn 8% protein [3 parts] 8 x 3 = 24 Divide by the number of parts
Barley 12% protein [2 parts] 12 x 2 = 24 Divide by the number of parts
Wheat 12% protein [2 parts] 12 x 2 = 24 Divide by the number of parts
72% protein divided 7 parts = 10.28% protein
Thanks in advance -
awesome info your attitude reminds me of my dad dang I miss him. 7dz a week of of 20 egg layers? wow that is some wonderful feed they are munching on

Great video thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. I have a farmer friend who grows soy beans and yesterday I was on his farm while they trucked there harvest out to market. I was given approximately 150 pounds of this raw bean. How can I prepare this so it's palatable for my chickens? thanks you.

Thank you , from Egypt :)

Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge with all of us. I have raised Texas
A & M quail for the past two years in my back yard. I plan to stop raising them this winter to raise about 6 laying hens. I may also get a couple ducks to keep the slug and bug problem under control. Can you recommend a breed of chicken based on egg production? I'm not concerned about the meat since they will ( knowing us ) be more like pets than livestock and we won't be able to kill them.
Another thing...just saying...I don't understand why the 22 people would give your video a thumbs DOWN. Of course with the more than a thousand thumbs UP I guess the negatives show just how much they know. I gave you a thumbs up and have subscribed to your channel. Have a great day ! -
thank you

Can I substitute the milo for black sunflower seeds? I work for a farmer so I get all the corn I need. Wheat from a neighbor, but nobody grows milo around here. I asked around at the feed mill and they didn't know either. I'm in northeastern Nebraska. we are all corn, soybeans and a little bit of wheat and oats around here. I will be feeding this to ducks and geese. They are free range as well.

can this work in broilers
-
Sorry if I missed this in the video but where do you buy your grains?
-
im about to get into some chickens. I happen to have family that are farmers and i can get whole corn, wheat and perhaps milo, or grain sorghum for a good price. Would these grains alone be ok for feed?

Great video - I like your enthusiasm and style!
