Musselroe Wind Farm ~ The Full Story
Musselroe Wind Farm ~ The Full Story http://www.hydro.com.au/energy/musselroe-wind-farm Lying south of the 40th parallel in the path of prevailing westerly winds, Tasmania has excellent resources for the generation of wind power. The Musselroe Wind Farm site is 100 kilometres north-east of Launceston and 20 kilometres north of Gladstone. It is an agricultural property owned by Hydro Tasmania. The Musselroe Wind Farm consists of 56 Vestas V90 wind turbines, with a generating capacity of 168 MW. The project included the construction of a transmission line to connect the wind farm to the electricity grid at Derby. Wind has been monitored at the Musselroe site since the early 1980s. Data gathered suggests that the area's wind resource is world class. This 20 documentary shows how teams developed the Musselroe Wind Farm project from start to finish.

Super impressive technology and great story of the build but no matter the positive spin they are hideous on the landscape. Need to go nuclear

You can make it yourself, just loook and learn from INPLIX .

some bastard impaled that beetle on the barbedwire!!!

Great project. And they look beautiful.

This time I'll use Inplix instructions to make it by myself

Beautiful scenery, earth, bogland, wildlife , waterways desecrated and for what wind energy the biggest scam and destroyer of our century, so sad. Now people are waking up to what is happening and the people are speaking out, paying from their own pockets to protect what our governments have signed away....

Remember, a boatload of fossil fuels were needed to build and install those "clean" monsters. If you witness what's required just to truck them in, including all the access roads, you see why this is such a farce. They almost never generate at consistent capacity and need regular power plants as backup, running less efficiently. These people are no different than oil drillers in their mentality. They latch onto the "green" they really care about, helped by all kinds of subsidies. I can't imagine breaking ground on a wind project and feeling like I'm doing right by nature, especially on a ravaged mountaintop (coal isn't the only destroyer of those).

The camera pans over what looks to be a nice area, then you realize a bunch of ugly towers are scattered all over it. How can people be proud of this fake green industry? I'd join a dismantling crew if they ever reach that point.

Some countries put up their turbines near the shore and in high places like mountains.. and they are so beautiful!

Wow! massive wind turbines... great wind farms...

That landscape was a hell of a lot greener before those white skyscrapers invaded it. I can only shake my head in bafflement at the so-called environmentalists who keep sanctioning these land-grabs. The acreage needed per unit power is staggering compared to traditional sources. No, I'm not a climate denier, just a respecter of natural landscapes.
