Pakistan's former president Pervez Musharraf has been escorted by convoy to his farmhouse residence on the edge of Islamabad to be placed under house arrest. His lawyer had harsh words for the situation surrounding his client. Ahmad Raza Kasuri, Musharraf's lawyer, said, "The international world is shocked. A man who fought eight years against terrorism in this region, the attacks happened to himself. Today he is accused under section six of the anti-terrorism act. What a contradiction. What a big joke." Musharraf was ordered on Saturday to be held for two weeks until the next hearing in a case related to his 2007 decision to sack and detain several judges. After the judge's order, Islamabad's administration declared that Musharraf's lavish country residence could serve as a jail, meaning the ex-president could be held there under house arrest. The judge ruled that Musharraf would be given judicial remand, which means he will be held in custody until the next hearing on May 4th.
