The Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area is one of the largest food and fiber production areas in Australia with over 3,000 landholdings within an area of 660,000 hectares. The irrigation water helps to create a diverse and highly productive agricultural region with vibrant communities such as Griffith, Leeton, Darlington Point and Narrandera. The irrigation area was officially opened in 1912 and has continually been upgrading and keeping up with the latest technologies and research. The MIA also has a great range of job opportunities education, arts, entertainment, sports and recreational activities.
