Green gram (Vignaradiata) is also called as mung bean, golden gram. Protein content is 23.5%. The origin of mung bean is India. First step is land preparation that is fertile land is selected then ploughing the land to form ridges and furrows. Then basal application of fertilizer (N:P:K) is done. After that seeds are sown at 30 ₓ10cm. Seed rate is 30kg/ha. Green gram sown field should be irrigated immediately followed by on 3rd day called life irrigation. Irrigate at intervals of 7 to 10 days. And irrigation is must in flowering and pod formation stage and water stagnation is avoided. Weed management is done on 15th and 30th day after sowing. DAP and urea is applied, foliar spray for yield improvement. Then pod formation occurs. Pods are 10cm long with 10 -- 12 seeds. After maturation(60-65 DAS), the pod colour turn from green to black, this is the right stage to harvest. For irrigated crop the grain yield is 878kg/ha.
