Migrant workers with EBT cards in school buses arrive at NC Wal-Mart
Update 4pm This was posted on the Davidson County Tea Party page by Nancy Hicks Benson From Sara Hoyle: Regarding the 2 videos of supposed illegal immigrants in Kannapolis/Concord area yesterday at Walmart... Just got off the phone with a very nice & informative lady with Patterson Farms in China Grove,NC. It is verified the bus belongs to them, and on Sunday, did transport their workers to the Kannapolis Walmart for supplies. All workers are here through a federal government program ,H2A, where the farmer pays the federal government a fee and the workers are issued a temporary green card for the season. When harvest is over, the migrant workers (are supposed to) return to Mexico. This has been the farms practice for @ 20 years. So, these are Not illegal immigrants overflowing into NC from the border crisis. --- Not confirmed the post or the video, but that is the information given to me Patterson Farms is a well known commercial farm in the area. This video was recorded in the parking lot of the Walmart in Concord, NC which is in Cabarrus County County. She says that the illegal immigrants were all using government issue debit cards to make their purchases in line at Walmart. Not only could they barely speak English, but one of them had said they had just arrived in America. The Concord Police department is not returning calls on this matter and we have not heard from the Sheriff yet. Glad to know these hard working individuals help keep the price of produce affordable for all of us. When they send some of their earnings back to their families, it allows them to improve their standard of living and allows some to buy US made goods to the benefit of our businesses and workers. By shopping at Walmart, they infuse money into our local economy and support our schools, police and firefighters from the taxes they pay on the goods they buy. As for not speaking English? Last time I checked, the Constitution protects everyone's right to free speech, and which applies to everyone, regardless of national origin.

Why Don't you check up on THE MEAL TICKET OPERATION PROGRAM, and see who really abuses our system, and people who sells their food stamps to buy drugs. I've seen women using EBT cards, wearing expensive clothes, driving expensive cars, it is Legal Citizens who defraud, NOT ILLEGALS.

How can you be so ignorant, these people work in the farms near by, why don't you ask the farmers for their permit, they bring them LEGALLY into the USA to work in their fields, illegals CAN NOT get an EBT card, when you apply for aid at Social Service Offices, you MUST PROVIDE PROOF OF LEGAL STATUS, farmers provide or help them get a pre-paid bank card, that they won't be robbed. It is because of these hard working people that you enjoy fresh produce at home. You may want to ask a social worker if I'm wrong.

There are reports of planeloads of illegals being flown from the island of Malta to North Carolina under orders from the US "government". From NC they are distributed all over American communities.

I don't mean to be rude or disrespectful, I'm just simply sharing my opinion as many of you have already done so. First off, these people have a thing called workers permit. I know because in my town we have this going on too and I was curious so I took the time to talk to them. Second of all, if it weren't for these so called "illegals" who work in the fields in the hot sun, you wouldn't have half of the vegetables and fruits you buy at the supermarkets. Someone has to pick it and since no one else wants this job they gladly take it. Who are you to judge these people? You don't for sure if they are here illegally. You haven't walked in their shoes and you don't know if they have sick family or kids who they are sending their money to. They drop everything, leave theirs homes and family to come work over here in a country, where they don't understand the language. Only to get judged and harassed by people who think they know who they are. Imagine if the situation were in reverse, we lived in poverty, in a country where there's not that many jobs and where there's a lot of corruption. If you had the opportunity to go work in another country, even though it means leaving your family because you can't take them with you. Leaving to go work so that you can help your family, wouldn't you take that opportunity?...It's sad how we are quick to judge and criticize but when it's done on us we don't tolerate it and we immediately lash out.
