Michigan Farmer Fights Livestock Factory Farm Pollution
Lynn Henning is the 2010 Goldman Environmental Prize winner for North America. A family farmer and activist in southern Michigan, Henning exposed the egregious polluting practices of livestock factory farms in her rural area, gaining the EPA's attention and prompting state regulators to issue hundreds of citations for water quality violations.

Are these ponds not treatment ponds set up along EPA guidelines? Does this person Hennings not own a farm herself, and perhaps has some contempt for those she competes with? While I do understand environmental concerns, do we not as Americans have certain rights within the law to meet their own farming needs, as well as the needs of people, within a growing food crisis or in feeding the masses?
