Bristles is a uber special girl. Please listen to what she has to say: Hey there, guys. Thanks for taking the time to read my bio. My life has been a kind of sad story. When I was just a 6 month old pup, I arrived at CHHS as a stray. Nobody knew my background and I wasn't telling anyone about it! What I was, was this adoring little gal who loved to play and sit on laps and give kisses. I loved to go for rides and walks and I loved life. Then I was adopted, then rehomed, then rehomed, then rehomed again-to the point of nobody knows who I belong to. I was recently found wandering out in the country all by myself. I can't tell you how long I was there for, but my skin was sagging around my belly and I was as hungry as an ox! My skin was all scabbed over and I had a lot of hair missing. It turned out that I had developed a severe yeast and bacterial infection in my skin! Thankfully the Dr at CHHS fixed me right up on some meds. I also had a urinary tract infection. (Maybe that's why someone left me in the country? I tried telling them it hurt to potty, but it fell on deaf ears.) I can't be for sure. This super kind man found me and took me in until he could bring me to CHHS where they are giving me the utmost loving care. And now the good stuff! I'm full of LOVE and I love to give kisses, sit, and shake for treats. I still love to lie in laps, but I prefer it if you're on the couch because I'm a little bigger than your average lap sized dog. I snore happily when I'm asleep and I love to play with other dogs. I'm in a foster home now. I'm great with cats, in fact they scare me with their big claws! Ouch, those hurt! I'm a very, very, very loyal lady to my person and I will protect the house with an evil look on my face and a fierce growl and I won't back down until you tell me otherwise. I do not charge. I do not bite. And if the person at the door moves towards me, I will run and hide. So maybe I'm not the big, bad fearless protector you have in mind, but I like to pretend that I am. I also enjoy playing a lot with other dogs, especially big dogs! If you'd like to learn more about me, feel free to email Lori@caringhandshs.org. She's the trainer at CHHS and she's the one that has me at home to help me find a successful FOREVER home. I'm so tired of moving from home to home. I want a home that wants me FOREVER, too. I'm not settling for any less.
