Martys Worm Farming Trials with Different Systems for the Future http://happyhouseandgarden.com/the-beginners-blueprint-to-successful-wormfarming-at-home/ Worm farming, compost and chickens all play a huge role together at my micro-farm in Australia. The old plant material and compost from the microgreens go into piles and compost bins. The composting worms then go through it all turning unused compost and old roots into valuable worm castings. At the moment I am trialing the pile system and the large compost bin. My favourite is still the 3 tier enclosed worm farm as this is where I breed all my worms and collect worm tea. Over the last 4 years I have bread thousands of worms starting at just 500. Truth is, I have no idea how many I have breed,,but's a darn lot. You can also sell them at around $50 per thousand. Compost worms truly are extremely valuable in small space farms and gardens,,,who can complain having free organic fertilizer, right?
