Mae Salong - Santikhiri - Anyone for Tea?

It was our curiosity to see some of the hill tribes of Northern Thailand that led use on a day-trip from Chiang Rai to Mae Salong, a beautiful oolong tea growing region of Thailand. Our time spent there was only about three hours as we were flying to Bangkok the following day. As usual we arrived unprepared and ended up only scratching the surface but but even this short visit made us realize that this was a region rich not only in agriculture but also in cultural, ethic and religious diversity. If you have the time a home stay with the hill tribe people would be a priceless experience.
