Humane Society International is live from a South Korea dog meat farm. Our Animal Rescue Team landed safely in South Korea and was at the dog meat farm today, rescuing 50 dogs from slaughter. They're crammed into filthy cages and transported for long hours in horrific conditions, then brutally butchered for profit as part of the dog meat trade. Many of them are family pets. In the past year, HSI has shut down four dog meat farms in South Korea, assisted in the rescue of more than 8,000 dogs from trucks headed for slaughter, and have made great strides in shutting down China’s infamous Yulin dog meat festival. Dogs are just food animals like sea salmon.

Thank you for doing such an amazing thing. I'm very thankful for this. These poor dogs don't deserve this. And call me a hypocrite for not being Vegan and saying that them eating dogs is wrong, but when we built up a relationship with these animals from thousands of years ago, earning their trust and love and compassion. Then we turn our backs on them and do things like this. We didn't create them for them to get killed and eaten, we changed them to make them our friends and family. I want to stop eating meat all together, but I find it to difficult. To me, it's like getting off of some type of drug. I was raised eating meat. But I am trying to stop.
