Strong yes. 700 No. Spotters don't touch the bar.
-
bullshit ...larry had help. the most he could is prolly 400ibs
-
Not natty and three people touching the bar. Not saying i could ever do that shit but it's not a legit 700 lb bench
-
"If i had six legs i couldnt squat that" so hes saying if he was three times as strong he couldnt squat 675 - so he cant squat 225 for one rep? he clearly can at least squat 315 lmao stupid nigger cant do math
-
definitely impressive. But let's be real. He bounced the bar off his sternum quite hard. He was driving with his legs as much as possible. IF he had to stay still on the bench (negate the leg drive), and could not rebound the bar off his chest, he'd probably be good for about 600 lbs.
-
Well thats not 700lb bench, they can't keep their filthy hands off his bar.
-
strongest NATURAL lifter in the world! all these fakes nowdays who juice to get that strong.
-
wasn't natural
-
I didn't see the spotters help in saw them use proper technique with just their finger tips on the bar offering no help at all
-
The amount of haters in the comments my god get a life guys. Two fingers on the bar won't drop his max by 200 lbs you guys are dumb as hell XD.
-
spotters where probaly helping still impressive though
-
Impressive, but keep your damn hands off the bar while he's lifting, make it a respected record
-
so much hating on this video smh. this guy was seriously a fucking beast even if he didn't get it lol.
-
It's just like using a machine for eights if you touch the bar. Plus, he bounces the shit out of the weight off his sternum.
-
Well done love the way they are all united all you haters get a life
-
Also my friend argued for football the closed grip bench was more useful then a normal wide bench. He said your never blocking someone with your hands that far apart.
-
He didn't do it. The spotters did

This was incredibly impressive for many reasons. 1. Larry allen wasn't on nearly the roids most professional weightlifers and bodybuilders are on. If not completely natural, he was at least more natural. 2. He did this lift raw 3. He's a frickin NFL player. Not a professional powerlifter. He didn't train exclusively for this one moment.
Some people might say... if he had such natural talent for being a powerlifter then why didn't he do that instead of being a football player? Cause he made like 20 million bucks in the nfl at a time when powerlifters had to have day jobs. -
I'm no powerlifting expert, but I think that wouldn't count at a powerlifting meet. Still tho by himself raw I see the dude hitting a 585 for a double and 600 for a 1 RM. Shits crazy man. To be that strong is something only a few people to walk the earth will get to experience. I wish I could be able to experience that level of strength. That would be so awesome to be that strong. He's right up there with Bill Kazmaier and Magnus Samuelsson.
