Kenyan tea farmers disappointed by the 2016\2017 budget

The 2016\2017 budget was greeted with disappointment by some tea farmers.They, as well as other players in the industry, said they had expected that the government would address matters around energy, which was the bulk of their cost of production. Loise Wangui visited the county of Nandi, which is one of the biggest tea-producing counties, and reported that despite the 1% tax relief, tea farmers feel the budget failed to capture more pressing tea matters and now want the government to put in policies to ensure more changes in the industry.
