The Kenya Tea Development Agency is set to announce its bonus payout for farmers, with anticipation that farmers are set to make a hefty return this year. Tea farmers are expecting increased earnings after the price of the commodity at the auction improved in most sales since January. A kilogram of the beverage fetched 314 shillings mid last month, the highest recorded this year. In a statement to newsrooms KTDA says the increase in new emerging markets, the stable global tea prices and the good harvests received this year have been some of the factors that have led to the rise in the bonuses.
