The sandy earth of China's Yellow River is the perfect place for jujube fruit to grow. Join the farmers whose families have worked along the river for generations as they harvest the sweet 'Chinese red date'. The fresh fruit have to be knocked out of trees up to 12m high and lined with spikes. Jujubes have been part of the Chinese diet for over 4000 years, and can be made into juice, syrups and liquors, or my personal favourite way to eat them - candied! They're also used in Traditional Chinese Medicine and even as a wedding gift. Watch to the end to find out why! Did you guess right? For more on Jujube, visit our blog at https://chinaicons.com/.
