Japan wasabi farmer's hut 日本わさび農家の小屋 - softypapa adventures
Each year more homes, farms and communities are abandoned in the mountains where I explore, as a centuries old lifestyle is nearing it's end. This small building is the rest hut of a humble wasabi farmer. A place where the farmer can eat his lunch, wait out the cold rain beside a small fire and take leave of his hard labors tending to wasabi terraces near the high mountains of the Japan Southern Alps. This farmer is the last holdout in a valley of abandoned farms, and after he is gone in another few years the valley will slowly return to it's natural state, his farm will become overgrown, his shack will crumble and his memory will become lost. ---- My name is Kurt Bell and I am delighted that you have taken some time to share a little of the experience of life with me. I'm available on social media at the links below and can be reached via email at dinnerbytheriver@gmail.com Follow me on Twitter: https://twitter.com/softypapa Find me on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/LylesBrother On Google+ https://plus.google.com/u/0/109050782163582511388/posts Instagram: http://instagram.com/softypapa LinkedIn: http://www.linkedin.com/pub/kurt-bell/b/416/754 My blog: http://softypapa.wordpress.com ---- THE PATH OF WILDNESS The Path of Wildness is easy to find The course of a stream Leaves blown in the wind A beast's track through the brush And the direction of our first inclination The Path of Wildness is an answer and response to a prescribed way of life which may leave some individuals with a sense that their living is little more than a series of pre-determined, step-like episodes between birth and death. The stages of living between these events: childhood, adolescence, adulthood, parenthood and senior are themselves natural and in accord with the needs of the species and most individuals. Many find their satisfaction in living this course and to these individuals I have little or nothing to say. Others though long for something more; something innate, genetic and seemingly calling. Adventure and change can give a degree of satisfaction and relief yet even these may seem too tame. To those who feel drawn to something beyond the entertainment and stimulation of senses I offer a walk along The Path of Wildness. Don't bother penciling the event in your schedule, preparing a pack with goodies and supplies or even inviting a friend along, for this experience is along the course of your first inclination and you must surely always go alone. I could happily live in a shack like that, I'd probably have it in Europe somewhere though.. Although I can't imagine the winters would be nice. lol

Love the videos, but the descriptions are spammed by info that should be on your channel's homepage. I find myself not wanting to bother with reading your descriptions because I know it's going to expand way too much to fit on my screen.

Ah that would be nice to have lunch in a place like that with no one around and listening to the sounds of nature.

The hut is not where the farmer lives..so I doubt if he is bored. It is a rest area, a place to have lunch, an take a break from working the land. You must be very young. And yes, I would trade what is remaining of the time left to me, for a slower pace..for a life closer to nature. No television, no computers, no useless bling....it would be heaven on earth.

Cheers I thought ut might be it look great

I really enjoyed this video. It's full of simplicity and nature.

It's so interesting to see how farmers live there... so basic & yet so quiet & peaceful... I guess keeping things simple & basic are all a man or woman needs to be content in their lives... Amazing how some can have just the basic needs & be completely happy & content & those who have everything & more are not... : )

I love the farmers little hut. His place of serenity. ...=)
-
I would like to live there, but I fear it would be too cold at times, and insects would be able to get in too easily.
-
i could live there :) i love nature and being in the garden.. and in the mountains.. it must have a deep calm and serenity to it... something that is so hard to experience when you live in the city... (that's why i love visiting our crick when the weather is nice ;D
-
sad >? I'll bet you wouldn't trade your life for one of those farmers. Look at that hut, must be so boring.

the opening shot was amazing, did it pertain to this video

That was really cool. I need a nice little relaxing hut like that in the middle of no where. It would be great spending a rainy day in there drinking tea.

Loving the Aussie explorers hat
-
wow, just like a migrant workers (peasant) hut in the field he's in charge of. In the USA finding a small agricultural plot in the wild leads to illegal growers, moonShiners & mendicants who believe in natural law & thier innate right to harvest what they create.... ; D
-
Nice. Like the Aussie hat!
-
a field of dollar weed! Yea!!

If places are being abandoned, who's to say someone can't just move in? Have you ever seen squatters in abandoned buildings in the woods?
