Japan: 'Typhoon turbines' could power the world after a single storm
The inventor of what might be the world's first 'typhoon turbine' says the device can harness the power of storms to supply Japan with unbounded quantities of green energy. The team behind the egg-beater-shaped turbines were seen checking one of the devices in Nanjo, Okinawa Prefecture, on Monday. SOT, Atsushi Shimizu, CEO Challenergy Inc. (Japanese): “When the nuclear accident happened five years ago, it inspired me to build this storm turbine.” SOT, Atsushi Shimizu, CEO Challenergy Inc. (Japanese): “There is wind-generated electricity all over the world, but, for example, when put on top of mountains or on islands, they get damaged immediately. Japan is also an island country and it is said that the wind here is not stable and a propeller quickly gets broken.” SOT, Atsushi Shimizu, CEO Challenergy Inc. (Japanese): “Like in Japan, or similar countries, like in the Philippines, our wind-generated electricity is so useful. There are a lot of islands in the world, so we are challenging ourselves to make electricity, at first in the southern island.” Video ID: 20161128- 030 Video on Demand: http://www.ruptly.tv Contact: cd@ruptly.tv Twitter: http://twitter.com/Ruptly Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/Ruptly

This will never be practical, energy for only the few days A typhoon blows. And in the video with moderate wind it already sounds very noisy that can only get worse with more wind.Even "normal" windturbines don't produce any significant power. Here on the European grid.all the mills together produce only about 5% of demand and that's really A big waste of money.Power stations are so much cheaper and more efficient to run that in fact windturbines consume more energy than they produce. They need electricity for their hydraulics and control systems especially when there is little or no wind.Their transformers consume energy 24/7 and that's not all.In winter their blades need electric heating for de icing A serious issue for rotating 60 meter blades.

I gather there is no energy recovered from the three sets of rotating blades?
But only from the rotation of the central shaft? -
English would help

no radioactifs jenius !

Please stand far away, flying metal can hurt you.
-
bs, where are you going to store the energy? why isnt gravity used? ohh, u cant sell it i see.. lol.
-
this looks efficient
