Japan targets Taiwan in apple campaign
These red ripe Fuji apples are ready to be picked and shipped to Taiwanese consumers. Taiwan is a major market for apples grown in this Japanese prefecture -- Aomori. The area produces 500,000 tons of apples each year, accounting for half of Japan's total production. About 24,000 tonnes are exported. And 90 percent of the exports go to Taiwan.
