June 2007 Japanese jockeys have event domination in their sights. They're developing the methods to take on the international horse racing world. Katsumi Yoshida runs a racing empire conservatively valued at hundreds of millions of dollars. He developed the winning strategy to take first and second place at this year's Melbourne cup. "I had to choose a horse that was strong and able to win", he explains. "I had two at my stable by chance". By strictly controlling the temperature in their stables and limiting their training, he made sure they didn't burn out. Produced by ABC Australia Distributed by Journeyman Pictures

Agreed! And how can people do that to horse, that are respeced beautiful & contributed so much. No offense but people, of all animals they remind me of wild pigs, animals that are destructive, ungreatful & eat ANYTHING including themselves. There is nothing noble about that and as a rider and horse lover,I expect people to be only fascinated with their own species. I have respect for Japan as to their humantarian natue to other people but Im disgusted of their lack of respect for animals

Did the Tusami effect this training center? Love riding the racehorses. Even had a horse win the Breeders Cup! And, I broke him at Darby Dan Farms.

Had 6 weeks in Japan in 06 with Court Masterpiece, Kyoto Mile and Hanshin Cup and had great time.Loved country and culture,was interested in all this before then so was dream trip for me.Lucky enough to see daiwa Scarlet and Vodka win as 2 y olds while there.Gd luck to Mr Yoshida,and his operation.Oh yeah we just took big pot of yen home with Snow Fairy,arigato JRA.Get some more ready,we will be back :))

If if the horses don't do well they can just eat them like they did Ferdinand. After all in Japan, horses are just business.
