Japan continues TPP ratification despite opposition
Japan’s government has pushed hard for the approval of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). However, US President-elect Donald Trump announced that his first priority as president will be to withdraw from the trade deal. Japanese farming has long opposed the TPP, due to concerns that the trade pact will diminish the country’s farms and agriculture.
