The nation was hit hard by the financial crisis and in recent years has been struggling to cope with both an ageing population and a disaffected youth. With people struggling to find full time employment even before the quake and cases of depression and suicide on the increase, there are fears that in the aftermath of the recent disaster the situation will become unmanageable. This report paints a bleak picture of a society "in a downward spiral" and yet as the nation appears "calm and un-phased" it asks whether from the ashes of the recent tragedy a renewed determination to rebuild their country can grow. Germans are more critical? Lol, you chose the worst example in the West. It would be better to choose a country like the US, the UK or Canada.
-
what about two atomic bombs?
-
This is really what happes when the older generation tries to put too much pressure on the next generation. It seems to me that they expect too much
-
Their society is doomed by wanting to remain in a child like mind. Also the blaming of the west or the usa is a true show of ignorance of the narrow minded people. The reason for all this failure world wide is real simple. It is a total lack of economic movement of the population. Big government and big entitlement is the reason for all these problems. Dont think China isnt immune they will soon follow the usa and japan and the rest. China has a huge population going to retire and due to entitlement will soon be like the rest of us.

Look on the bright side.
With less people, housing will, at last, become affordable. -

Buddha never preyed. He always said Meditate. These are two different paths.

Japan is a wonderful country and culture.
Among those commenting you can see euro centric westerners speaking about their local issues on an entirely different society and sexist retrogrades who clearly have a problem with women -
of course your boys aren't hungry for success anymore. Who would want to be like their dads, work 12 hours a day their whole lives then get all their life savings wiped out when their mothers filed for divorce for no reason. Even without that, the government make sure it happens through inflation by printing money.

This is sad.

The gov't is to blame with all of their bs.. just as here in the US, UK, and much of Europe. There are many changes that could be made but will the ""RIGHT"" people benefit??? Let the young Japanese do their own thing but start small.. Small and steady will win the race.. This is a marathon not a sprint.. Study people such as Jobs, Musk and let them dream the impossible and then go for it..

What an ignoranrt, one-sided documentary.
If Japan is in a donward spiral, it's caused intentionally by Zionist criminals. It was NOT a force of nature that caused the earthquake. It was a terror attack and so was the Fukushima "accident". Japan's economy was also destroyed by Zionist henchmen in the Central Bank. Politics in Japan has always been manipulated by Zionists since WWII (and even before). Germany has been going through a similar fate at the hands of Zionist criminals.
Zionists are behind most (perhaps all) terror attacks, wars and crises around the world. A documentary like this doesn't even mention the world's worst criminals. -
Bullshit. The Japanese were nuked twice carpet bombed to dust and is one of the most advanced manufacturers in the world today. And they won't allow their women to get raped by foreigners.
-
Change country in the Title Japan with Europe, the women are basically getting raped by a minority of men and the locals don't dare to do anything about it.
-
Their women are HOT.
