Buy it at Best Buy - http://lon.tv/066w9 (affiliate link) VIDEO INDEX: 0:03 - Hardware overview 3:45 - Modern / Metro UI Demonstration 4:26 - Web browsing performance and benchmarks 4:59 - Minecraft and 3DMark Benchmark / Gaming Performance 5:53 - Disk speed benchmarks of the internal SSD 6:14 - Demonstration of HDMI port and 1080p output 7:37 - Conclusion and Final Thoughts I have a feeling we are going to see a lot more of these cheap $99 tablets from many manufacturers. This latest entrant comes from Best Buy and sports an 8 inch screen but a measly 16 gigabytes of internal storage. We previously looked at the HP Stream 7, also $99, which has a smaller screen but more internal storage. Both tablets have the same Intel Atom processor and only 1 gigabyte of internal RAM. The Best Buy device performance nicely, on par with the HP Stream 7 in just about every way. It has a larger 8 inch screen that is a little easier to look at given as compared to the HP's 7 inch display. The Insignia's display is an attractive and crisp IPS panel. Unlike the HP the Insignia does have an HDMI port for connecting external displays. If the internal display is disabled the device can output at a full 1080p! this means that if you use a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse you can essentially have a $99 desktop PC that can be disconnected and taken on the road. But the minimal amount of available storage space is frustrating and severely limits its usefulness. Like the HP I also wish it had a little more available RAM.
