Industrial Wind Turbines - NIMBY = Not In My Back Yard OR Next It Might Be You!

1. Do you like the cancer caused by electric transmission towers?
2. building anymore of these wind turbines and the whole country might fly away!
3. INFRASOUND IS A KILLER !
4. not only are wind turbines unhealthy for us, they are a waste of money and do not come close to paying for themselves, or lowering your power bill,  politicians and their rich friends are getting richer with this scam at taxpayers expense
5. Forget the noise, they are so ugly ruining the beautiful countryside.
6. I would rather have a wind turbine in my back yard than having a power plant putting deadly toxins in the air.

10. But policymakers at the federal and state level, unfortunately, have decided that the American people will have renewable energy, no matter how high the costs. As a result, taxpayers will be stuck paying the cost of subsidies to wealthy wind producers.
11. There might be something to these concerns . . . . . by compared to carbon based energy, wind is clearly better.
    About being kept awake - two points :
    1 - I have a small white noise maker that helps me sleep.
    2 - My neighbors dogs bark a lot - so I know how lack of sleep can get on your nerves,

    I have written three books on eliminating noise hazards. The issues with wind mill noise are numerous.
    The first issue is noise generated by the blades in particular the tip of the blade. This can be addressed by modifying the tips the same way wings of modern jets are modified. Viewing the tips of the wind mill blades with an infra red camera will display the problem. An infra red app on a smart phone will do the trick.
    The second is the way air borne noise is measured. NASA recommended that 1/3 octave measurements be used. This will show the peak of low frequencies around 100Hz. Typically these measure around 80dB. Local authorities use the "A" scale The effect is that windmills will always be compliant because low frequencies are not measured.
    The Third is that sound travels 10 times better through the ground than the air. Vibration caused by the windmill tower shaking the ground is not measured.
    The fourth is that ground vibration shaking a house is not measured. Low frequency vibration will sympathetically cause a house to generate noise. Noise produced by a house shaking is not measured.

18. It doesn't matter who hates them or not there are billions of these turbines throughout the country they won't get rid of them even if they are loud which they are not

I just did a tour around San Gorgonio Pass Wind Farm in Palm Springs, Southern California, which is one of the largest wind farm in the U.S. Toward the end of the tour, the guide let us stand within 50 m (150 ft) of the largest turbine there. Sure, there is some "noise." But whenever the turbine is spinning, the wind is blowing too. And to me, the overall wind noise blowing around my ears is much louder than the turbine noise itself. I almost had to concentrate to catch the distinct swoosh of the blade.
20. there pushing the IDEA  of green. but what its really about is running the farmers of there land. because they cant cover the coast of putting them up. and the cost of putting them up fall's on the farmers .
