As part of a one month trip to Indonesia (June-July 2012), we went on a three day, two night tour with a guide called Agus. His cousin Fery joined us as a driver. The trip was amazing. We got to see rice fields, tea plantations, production of nutmeg, cloves, cacao, we went to see how wayong puppets are made, swam in waterfalls in the jungle, climbed an active volcano for sunset, etc. Accommodation was excellent as well: a bamboo house in the middle of the jungle and a hotel with water coming straight for the local hot springs. We had some of the best food of our entire trip there, which is particularly great, considering that we are both vegetarians. We warmly recommend this trip to anyone. We certainly wouldn't have seen all these place on our own. Agus is an excellent guide, speaks good English and some Dutch. He can tell you all about the area and about Indonesian history. Give him a call when you go to Bogor! Agus is also listed in Lonely Planet, under Bogor, but his phone number is incorrect. He is part of a tour agency called Pribadi Tours (www.PribadiTours.com), and can be reached on this number Agus: +62 (0) 81585452018.
