Indonesia, is a nation of over 17.000 Islands, and this ensures that both the waterways, and seas in this nation create a livelihood for millions of people. The rich seafaring heritage of Indonesia, lays in the fact that many Indonesians navigate traditional boats, without any modern sailing equipment, and these boats are a lifeline as inter- island transport. Over half a century later, some of these images are as common today, as they were in the mid-1950s.
