Thank you so much hananouki, I think I'll had to be something similar to grow mint, which I have grown up some in the past... I used to give my plant a sun bath every day just for a few hours and then back to shade. I'll manage to get some green tea seeds here. Cheers

Hello Mr. Manfred I´m David Reyes from Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico. I want to grow my own green tea, I´ve never drank it but should be delicious. I understand in Australia you have a similar kind of weather so I think it might work here in my home. Thanks for sharing.

Looks like good, wholesome stuff you got there :D Though, you may want to use a strainer held over boiling water when stopping oxidation, instead of putting them directly in the pot. That is the traditional way of doing it, but the method displayed in the video looks fascinating enough to be worth a try. I actually bought 3 Camellia sinensis seedlings and planted them in pots, but the strong northeasterly breezes in Southeast Florida (USA) have dried out their leaves :( In despair I discarded 1 of them and left the other 2 in their pots, in an eastern exposure to limit their daily amount of sunlight. I intend to purchase more tea plants. Hopefully the affected plants will bounce back once the wet season begins next year and grow to a height of 40 cm, after which I can expose them to more direct sun or leave them in the shade of the eastern exposure. The best I can do right now is just water them to keep them moist. Watching this clip really motivates me :)

Dear Mr. Manfred Druschowitz,
I'm very impressive with the tea plants in your garden and wonder where is your location because it is very difficult to plant a tea like that! and I love the sound when you pick the young leaves , it is fantastic! .. however, let try to steam it for 30-90 seconds with more water, after steaming you roll and press it by hands in around 25 minutes into curly or twisted shape and the make the drying process in the oven. The first drying take 12-15 minutes by 100-105 Celsius degree, the take it out and cool down in 2 hours, the second drying take 15 minutes by 80 Celsius degree. Good luck and wish you a green cup of full aroma! -
Wow! Those leaves are very beautiful, I could almost smell them, though my imagination is probably no match for their actual smell.
