Love your video! Thank you for sharing. Silly question: Do these whiskey barrels have holes for drainage? What pests should I watch for and how can I prevent them?

Nicely made video. Day length is important for success in growing bulb onions in many places in the US. Perhaps you are not so far south in CA that you need to use a short day variety. Here in Santa Clara county we can grow any variety. In our video we discuss the importance of day length. We do not recommend breaking the stem of the onions but rather encourage home gardeners to harvest as the stems naturally fall over. That will extend the harvest time to two or three weeks. Another thing we recommend is to dry or cure the harvested onions in a well ventilated but shady place so that less moisture is lost from the bulbs.

How do you store the small bulbs that you want to use as sets for the next crop?

The weeds that look like clovers growing in your pot seem to be Oxalis. It has a sour taste and is edible in small quantities...

Hi thanks for the video, I really loved it. But I wonder can I just cut off the green onion leaf? And then one more thing, is that possible to grow it form the onion it self, what I mean is not from the seed. Thanks :)

Can you cut the tops off to double the size instead of breaking and bending them? I saw another vid that said you can double the size by cutting back by half. Have you tried this? Love your videos !!
