More videos like this at: http://www.junglejoel.com - the fruit of the soursop tree (Annona muricata) can get quite large, up to 5 pounds, or more. It's very tart and has a strong citrus-like smell. Because of the fibrous nature of the flesh, it's often used for making juice. The leaves of the tree are sometimes used for making tea. When ripe, a soursop turns slightly yellow and then gets soft. If you don't pick it at this point, it will quickly fall to the ground, making a smelly mess. It's best to pick it when it just turns slightly yellow, but before it gets soft - allowing it to ripen for a few days indoors. Some other names for this fruit include "guanábana" (Spanish), and "graviola" (Brazilian Portuguese). Please rate and comment, thanks.
