letting it sit for 24 hours does nothing but rob oxygen.
now if you had added molasses or fish emulsion, then the microbes would be mulitplying.
without a food source, they are just using O2 and dying off.
if you do use molasses or fish, then you need an aerator, becuase they will
be eating and multiplying, using oxygen etc...
just another FYI...
the more diverse the compost pile is the better.
throw a few handfuls of soil from under a really old tree
and make sure the compost is well mixed.
this will increase the number of species of bacteria and fungi.
you can add molasses or fish emulsion to the compost pile
(1 tbspn per gallon or so) and just wet the pile lightly.
which will then multiply all those species
this way, when you make compost tea, you wont need to use an aerator,
and you will still have an active diverse set of organisms. -
If you are on city water always let your water sit for a day or 2 before adding compost to make tea for best results. This lets all the chlorine evaporate out of the water. Yes I know its low amounts but chlorine is bad for the roots. Your plants will love you more.

Great videos. You talk so smoothly and you're easy to listen to and follow. Not to take you away from here, but you need to be on "The Walking Dead". They're good at fighting, but know little about how to survive. You can teach those idiots how to feed themselves. :)

As already mentioned in different posts below, you cannot make aerobic compost tea without first starting with non- chlorinated water, a form of aeration, and a simple carbohydrate food source to sustain bacterial growth. Non of these elements are optional. Your process is anaerobic which is generally not what your looking for.

That's just muddy water.... How are you growing a living culture inside a bucket with no oxygen? You're just making a bucket of muddy water every week and adding to the stagnant bacteria at the bottom.
Imagine how good your crops would be if you were doing it right -
can u use compost tea to moistrize your compost?
