Ok soooooooo... My son is just getting started with an ant colony. Neither one of us have a clue what we are doing. One thing that worries me is the fact that I keep my home at between 65-67 degrees all year around. I have been looking at the heating cables but it look like it takes a special plug. Where do I get that for the US? Too, is 25 watts enough for a hybrid colony? if so, I'm not sure how to set this thing up. We have both watched video after video and thus far I see nothing that help me to understand the heating cable... Please help.........

I have a question for you guys.. My question is that I love to see Ants work and how they build they're nests and tunnels etc. In these acrylic nests, which are beautiful by the way, but it doesn't seem like they have anything to do. They just walk back and forth which is cool but Ants love to work and that's a big fascination that a lot of Ant people find so interesting about them. They're is no sand to dig holes and tunnels, foraging etc??
