very nice video, I was curious if you know how big of a root system fully grown and fruiting cavendish bananas can get, I live in florida with lots of sun and rain, problem is the ground will have standing water from time to time so I was wanting to try growing one or two hydroponically but am unsure how much space the roots actually need.

I hate that everywhere I look they say a lot of fertilizer, this doesn't help me at all I don't know if they mean every couple days every week month what is a lot and how much is a lot. I live in Tennessee and decided to try growing these I have 2 that I bought. I put them in a 1 gal with drain holes, sandy soil with perlite. I picked up 10-10-10 because I found that it was the most talked about everywhere I read. How much and how often should I give it. I have read from every watering (which is everyday i guess) to 1 time a month. Can anyone help me please before I kill these plants and have to start over.

The easiest banana plant to grow is the musa basjoo. It is very cold hardy, looks very cool/impressive as it gets huge - anybody can grow this. It is an ornamental variety(no edible fruit) so unless you live in zone 8 or warmer, its the way to go. Generally planted in the ground(vs. potted) in mid spring and is even hardy enough to survive & return after an Alaskan winter. And like many banana plants, this variety not only gets bigger each year/season, it also multiplies and is easy to separate, move & replant.
