not to be a downer but if diatomaceous earth is comparable to fiberglass, wouldnt that making it to the product be dangerous if inhaled?

You should not just flush and treat new plants with biological agents, but also you should quarantine them for 10-14 days.

please do not put organic or non organic substances on plant. soils Nats propagate in the soil, so.. Just simply top dress your grow medium with sand. '' Play box sand is vary clean." Sand will stay too dry to support egg growth and act like broken glass to any nat trying to go in or out of your medium. Why add flavors to your pot from some goop. Good luck.

I have been struggling with spider mites FOREVER!!! They are the devil! I read about Diatomaceous Earth Powder and decided to give it a try on my medical marijuana grow. I mixed 2 tablespoons in 1 gallon of water in a sprayer and heavily sprayed my plants making sure to get under the leaves. They are 3 weeks into flower. I sprayed it when the lights first came on so it could dry and become effective in killing the little bastards. (It won't work until it dries)
IT WORKED!!!! I checked them last night and the adults were DEAD. There are still eggs on the underside of the leaves and I'm not sure if it killed them or if they have to hatch first? I will keep checking them. I am beyond excited about this find. Not only is it 100% effective, it is SUPER CHEAP! I got a 1 lb bag on Amazon for $10.
I have a question about whether I should rinse the powder off of the plants once it kills them? Does leaving it on adversely effect the plant growth?
Thanks for this great information! I loved the video. : ) -
