How's the Garden Growing with Compost Tea? An Update & Gardening Tour
10 days after starting weekly compost tea feedings, lets tour the garden and see how everything is growing. Hint: Everything is lush and green. I am dealing with the white powdery mildew which is forming on my squash, zukes, and pumpkins. I'll use a tablespoon of baking soda in a gallon of water (pump up sprayer) to treat the tops and bottoms of the leaves. Thank you very much. We had a good growing season with it this past year.
-
your garden is beautiful sir
-
We started it too late and as soon as the heat kicked off, it went to bolts-ville.
-
How did your lettuce do this year?
-
Thank you sir! (And I love the videos!)
-
Yes. You can do all those things. I mainly root drench, but using it in a pump up sprayer via foliar works well too.
-
When you feed with compost tea, do you foliar feed, root drench, or both? Thanks for always being so helpful!
-
I ran trenching inside the bed and then used 90 degree elbows to bring them up.
-
How did you get your pvc pipe of your irrigation system to come up in each of your beds? I watched your installation of your drip irrigation system, but I didn't see how you got your pvc pipe to come up in your beds.

Can you think about doing a video on watering? Maybe explain how you water, how often, how often you do compost tea, maybe give us an update on your compost tea in the rain barrel this year, etc? I live in GA and I try to water my garden every couple days since has been in the 90's+. I think the video would definitely be beneficial to the newbies, especially since overwatering can cause plants to grow slow and not watering enough can cause them to die. This is just a thought. Thanks!!

What kind of tomato support with the rings and rope are you using??

This is my first year growing strawberries in a raised bed, so the short answer without know your conditions is I'm not sure.
-
My strawberries didn't make it I have 3 very small ones should I just buy more ..or will these guys super charge somehow?
-
We picked of the first few from each plant and they've come back with a vengeance, so we decided to let 'em rip ;-) We'll see how they do.
-
I couldnt remove my first strawberries. Too impatient, but that was 3 yrs ago, and I really dont think it would have made any difference.I posted pics on my blog of how loaded they are with berries since I mowed them last yr.
-
I like it. I wish I had a way to run drip irrigation to the top of it though. They need to be watered most every day.
-
Love your videos! How do you like your garden stick? I saw yours and am thinking of getting some myself.
-
If you leave the flowers on a couple of the strawberry plants it will give you a reference for next year. Plus you get some fruit this year.
