How China's Pollution Became a National Emergency
Cancer Villages: The shocking extent of Chinese pollution For downloads and more information visit: http://www.journeyman.tv/?lid=63641 The Chinese government claims it's making serious efforts to clean up pollution. But as this horrifying report shows, much of their 'success' has involved simply moving their toxic industries out of sight. "It's risky, but we have no other choice: We only have this river," Wu Zhuliang tell us from his remote farm in South Western China. For Wu and his family their reliance on the river, which runs yellow with pollution, has had terrible consequences. They buried his son just over a month ago. He had been diagnosed with two types of cancer, Leukaemia and Thymoma, and had been in so much pain he said to his mother, "open the window and I'll jump out". The water from Wu's river was found to have levels of chromium, a known carcinogen, "200 times higher than the national standard". Ma Tianjie from Greenpeace tells us it's so toxic that, "simply touching the water, it could make your skin itchy. It's a very, very serious problem." All across rural China the same stories abound. The government is cleaning up the cities, but often the most toxic industries are simply moved to rural areas where regulations are lax. Chinese farmers are now four times more likely to die from liver cancer than the global average. "The government is trying to find a way to get rid of this huge pile of historically accumulated waste but they are struggling." It's so sad :( And even if they succeed with protets which rarely happens, the factory is just moved to a different location so there's zero percent of improvement.

This is a 4 years ago documentary. Since last year, China has decided to demolish some industrial plants, as reported by CNN, in a negative angle --- millions of factory workers lost their jobs. China could continue its drastic industrial growth but she decided to slow it down. I REALLY HOPE PEOPLE CAN SEE THAT.

There are clear signs that China is not far from embracing democracy. I'm saluting to these Chinese investigative journalists who are throwing light on the real situation of China. People are also getting restless. This is the only good thing thats happening.

Oh Winston what have we done!

This is what Trump wants. Getting rid of the EPA and bringing back this kind of industry.

Millions upon millions of chinese people are about to die. Their water reserves wont last until 2030. They are going to start invading other countries for water and then destroy those countries with pollution until the UN utterly obliterates them. I feel for these people I truly want nothing but the best for them, but their pollution issue has put their entire nation of over 1 billion people in an early grave.

Chinese would trade clean air, water, soil for USD$ 🇺🇸we got the cheapest trash can for our garbage. Ty China for being greedy and uneducated. We always have more garbage for you mwahaha👍🏻

China is spending hundreds of BILLIONS each year on environmental protection and it is increasing every fucking year, soon it will be 800 fucking billions, they're the country that spends the most money on the environment in the world, all the issues are being tackled, for example how much money 800 billion is. The biggest and most advanced dam in the world, which is in China, cost 26 billions to build, that is only a small fraction!
Billions on safer industries
79 billion so far on the south north water transfer.
Billions on water systems, cleaning and purifying.
Billions on desertification.
And people are stupid enough to say China doesn't fucking care? They fucking live there too.
Everybody is fucking aware in China, it's all over the news everyday.
This is the fact media always seem to forget to mention for some fucking reason right? It's called propaganda people
China faces a lot corruption because foreign companies often go under the radar, it is difficult to catch all of them in time especially before they started improving their laws and solutions on the matter. -
How can i send money to this family?
Its like a warzone down there even though there is no war. -
Fuck the Chinese government. They are killing there own country. Its sad and horribly apocalyptic. If this is their way to stop the over population its just unethical, my heart goes to these poor families who lose their families due to the polluted air and water, basically nothing can survive. God save them.

We always blame the big companies and other countries for pollution, but we are also at fault (even me); the little things that we do, such as driving cars when not necessary and other means of better transportations exist, all add up and impacts the environment heavily. Granted a lot of us are busy and sometimes don't notice or are too busy to notice the damage we are doing, we should all take little steps to improve the environment on our own. Some (not all!) of us probably don't turn off the lights for one minute on Earth Day (even if its easy) or forget to turn off the light when we leave a room OR just toss a piece of trash on the ground instead of throwing it away, but by fixing those small mistakes, we can help in our own way. You may think its a little thing, but it all adds up. Fun fact (not really fun..): If you leave gum outside on the street, birds often think that's food, eat it, and choke to death. Fun Fact 2: If leave a plastic bag outside, it doesn't decompose, and if it travels to lakes or oceans, fishes can eat it. People can eat these fishes, which has unhealthy substances from the plastic bags that they eat inside them. Pretty much, if people litter plastic bags outside, then it can end up back in our food. Please repost this to spread this. :)
