Home Grown Spearmint Tea
We planted some spearmint last fall. This is our first harvesting of the mint and making our first mint tea from it. Delicious.

I have Spearmint in my kitchen window. My favorite! I use it on my skin all the time, because I am allergic to tetanus. It is great for a quick summer sponge bath without drying skin. I used instead of alcohol for cleaning hands, kills e coli and other bad nasties. Make it just like tea with a fresh sprig. Mouthwash too, it kills germs. Clean a baby's bottom.

When planting mint don't forget kitty; grow some cat mint and/or catnip. One problem about mints is they spread like wildfire. I planted apple mint, pineapple mint, spearmint, peppermint, orange mint, chocolate mint, lemon scented cat mint, and lemon balm. Now no matter where I move my strawberries mint takes over. It spreads underground, so it is difficult to control. Lemon balm on the other hand spreads, but it stays confined in small clumps. It is one of the most pleasant smells ever. Another problem with mints is they rob the soil of nutrients. Start composting and feed the mint area with the compost. Your mint will grow more potent. Bee balm grows tall and beautiful, and makes the best lemon scented tea. It also makes a beautiful bouquet, and it grows well from seed. Can you tell I love herbs!!!

Hi Elizabeth..I've really gotten into watching your videos. I've been in the tea business a long time and one of my favorite ways to enjoy tea or herbals is with raw honey. Tonight we had a green tea/lemongrass/citrus blend with wildflower honey. So delicious. Thanks for sharing yours! (P.S. just planted some mint yesterday in the back yard) 6/12 Just watched this again..my favorite. I love at the end where she asks for a kiss. You two are something.
