Heritage Tea, Tea Farm, Assam India

Rajen Baruah spent 30 years working with leading bulk-tea producing corporations in Assam, both on the fields and in the factories. Rajen had already retired, but he came out of retirement to found Heritage Tea, a farm aimed at creating more specialty teas in Assam. By empowering Assam tea farmers to make high-end teas, Rajen is increasing their opportunities and earnings in the region, and making a new name for Assam tea beyond low cost CTC black tea.
