CHINESE DELEGATIONS ARE VISITING VOLTA REGION The initiative of Togbe Afede XIV, The President of the Volta Region House of Chiefs, and VORDA (Volta Region Development Agency) in signing an MOU for a sister relationship during a visit of a delegation from the Volta Region to China, Ningxia in September 2011 with the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region of the Peoples Republic of China and the subse-quent signing of the protocols and final agreement in December 2011 in Ghana by both Re-gions, is now followed up by the visit of two delegations (on the sectors Health and Agricul-ture) from Ningxia to Ghana --Volta Region within the next seven days. The agreement between the two Regions states: (a) Both Regions shall carry out exchanges and co-operate in the areas of economy, trade, agriculture, fishery industry, mining industry, Chinese traditional medicine, tourism, science and technology, health etc to promote common prosperity and development. (b) There will be regular contacts between the leaders and relevant departments of the two sides to facilitate consultations on the exchanges and co-operation as well as matters of com-mon concern. The delegations from China will include Government Officials, high powered team of entre-preneurs and investors and provincial administrators. The delegation for the Health Sector is lead by Mr. Huang Yunbo, one of the Directors of the Foreign Affairs Office of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and includes Mr. Lu Jianmin, a Director of the Finance Department of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Health Directors and Doctors. The delegation for Agriculture is composed by officials and farm heads from Ningxia State Farm Administration (also named Ningxia Nongken Industry Co. Group). The main purpose of this reciprocal visit is for the business community of Ningxia to explore the numerous investment potentials in the region and form partnerships with indigenous busi-ness persons in developing sustainable and viable projects. Both delegations will be officially received by the President of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs Togbe Afede XIV, the Volta Region Minister, Hon. Henry Ford Kamel, MPs and DCEs of the region, the Head of Department, Members of the Regional House of Chiefs and Board Members of VORDA (Volta Region Development Agency) who are Nana Soglo Alloh IV, Vice President of the Volta Region House of Chiefs, Togbe Tepre Hodo IV, Paramount Chief of Anfoega, Nana Mprah Besemuna III, Paramount Chief of Krachi, Togbe Patamia Dzekley VII, Paramount Chief of Battor, Togbi Kporku III, Dufia of Alakple, Mamaga Ako-sua, the Ngoyifiaga of Sasadu Traditional Areas and Appiah - Danquah Kufuor and other in-vited guests. With the opening up of the Eastern Corridor, the establishment of the University of Allied and Health Sciences, the promotion of the trade and investment sector in the region the mood of the region was aptly summed up by Appiah-Danquah Kufuor , a Board Member of VORDA when he said "All Ghanaian entrepreneurs must get on board the Volta Economic Train". The delegations will visit several places in Volta Region to get a first idea about investment opportunities.
