Small scale tea farmers in some parts of the country are already counting losses as hailstorms continue to destroy tea bushes in their farms. The heavy hailstorms experienced in the Aberdares, Kericho and Nandi in the last two months are likely to scale down tea volumes in these areas following the erratic weather patterns. According to KTDA Senior Agricultural Manager Peter Mbadi, the adverse climatic changes are mainly being caused by global warming.
