This video was Produced by ATI-RTC 7 Ireneo Penticase is a young ubi farmer from Alburquerque, Bohol who ventured into farming as he was encouraged by his father while waiting to find a job after he earned his Bachelor's degree in Customs Administration. Erie's journey into farming Erie found his hope in farming as he started his journey with his cousin planting ubi and later on decided to try on other high value crops like peanuts, banana, vegetables, and now the organically grown black rice. He attended various training activities where he learned different agricultural practices which served as his guide in his farming. Erie explores as Magsasakang Siyentista As Magsasakang Siyentista, Erie experimented and explored on the use of organic inputs where he learned to value and practice sustainable agriculture. To really find the best agriculture practices that would guarantee him of good harvest he attended more training and seminars from that gave him more ideas His Good Agricultural Practice Erie combines the conventional practices of planting ubi with the organic way. He uses vermicast as fertilizer in place of the chemical fertilizer which he applies into his ubi farm. He also applies vermi tea which he himself produced from his vermicomposting facility Erie: The farmer-teacher Combined with the knowledge he earned from the trainings he attended and with his rich experience as a farmer, Erie shares with other farmers what he has learned as a farmer-teacher. He now serves as resource person in several trainings and seminars conducted by ATI and the LGU. For Erie, he will never bargain farming with any white-collared job and continues to explore new technologies that he can use in his farm.
